BUSINESS EXPERIENCE
In the 90's I provided hardware & software, sales & support to Realtors® and did training for various real estate software programs, both individually and in a computer lab setting.
I provided consultation to assess the needs of the agent according to the way he did his business. This experience allowed me to better understand the various services a Realtor® can provide and the myriad of ways it can be done.
I continually update my skills in digital photography, graphic & web design but the best skill I've attained is that of listening.
Each customer has a different set of needs so each solution is a bit different. I take the time to understand what is needed, assist with creating and executing a marketing plan, and remain an ongoing resource to provide images that make each piece of the marketing consistent, both online and in print.
The 2 books I've recommended on this page are the best tools I know to assist any business person in getting focused on the 'what and how' of their business.

| About Carla |
|
I live through the lense of each of my passions. I see design in buildings, nature, furniture, vehicles, people. I am an artist who uses photography, graphic design and web design as my palette. I use my creative skills to satisfy the customer, express my creativity and meet the industry standards for each skill set.
I don't expect each customer to see the world through my eyes. A huge part of the satisfaction I gain in my business is to have the challenge of working with a company whose offerings I know little about, whose logo seems disjointed from the color scheme or industry. I always find new ways to bring elements together, creating the necessary flow for the text and images to tell the right story.
I have extensive knowledge and a strong passion for each of the skills I offer in my business. It is my intention with each job to provide quality custom graphics, satisfaction of the customer to the completed design, and up to date standards for each industry. |
My hope with each new client is to establish a long term connection with them. Knowing I can assist with the company image, from logo & business cards, to email headers & a website, I put my processes in place immediately so each future request is almost pre-determined.
The logo was saved with a transparent background already, the custom neighborhood map used on the website for hotspot links was created in a high end program so I can easily send it in a high resolution file to add to the back of a postcard or for a display ad. Each request can be met in a timely, professional manner because of the long term commitment.
The value of the product I offer is the combination of my experience, the quality of the product given and the benefit of the trust built between business associates. I expect to be a part of each customer's success in business, as it is the success of mine! |

|
I begin the process of working with a customer by having them view the website contract I have in a .pdf form on this site. Setting the expectations is important before even meeting with a customer. When the customer is clear that I will be able to provide the type of product they need then I schedule a phone or personal appointment with them.
I listen carefully to the way the customer wants to present their product or services and familiarize myself as much as possible with their business by asking questions and later doing more research online to see what their competition is offering. Before ending the appointment I ask for a signature on the contract and a 50% deposit based on the size of the project we've discussed.
I charge by the page and have found this is a plus because it allows the often, new business owner to better budget for ongoing development of their site. Because I create websites fully custom, I can easily add to the navigation as additional pages are added.
I typically begin each project by getting all the images available for the site. Logo, owner photo, product photos, etc. With the knowledge I have in photography and the use of Photoshop I do color correcting, cropping, etc and will typcially clean up, as needed, and add 2D effects to the logo. I offer a service for updating logos in which I take the current image and without changing it completely, add elements and effects that give it a facelift to bring the design up to date.
I've found that once these changes are made, the customer is excited to update their look on some of their printed pieces too. Because I have experience in graphic design and maintain the software needed for digital and offset printing, I'm able to take the newer designs and duplicate them for business cards, brochures, etc. |
Having a consistent presentation through every piece of marketing is an important part of branding one's self. I take the time to create or recreate images so that when the request comes for a blog header that matches the site or a design needed for embroidery onto a sports shirt for a sponsorship, I have the experience and technology to meet those requests quickly and with a sleek, professional look for each design.
My preference as a business owner and designer is to form long term relationships because it is typically an advantage to both people. It's Quality vs Quantity. I can provide multiple versions of a professional custom design, saving the customer time and money in the long run because his designs are already in my system. I'm allowed to work with a trusted associate who appreciates value and is not just looking to buy the cheapest short term solution that proves to be obsolete in a year.
In understanding that most specialists are not Jacks of all trades, I have teamed up with other professionals I trust to provide some needed services I do not. I associate with programmers to accommodate forms, databases, etc. Specialists in video seo services, podcasts and online radio technology, and more.
My prices are competitive and standards are constantly being updated to match each industry. I maintain an online payment option using Authorize.net so payments can be made easily and safely.

I've always followed my passions in my work and I still, really love what I do!

Websites
The current design trends and technical standards are followed by Creative Marketing Colorado and this is part of what is different about using a pre-done template compared to a fully custom website. Careful consideration is taken in combining the message of the site, technical structure of the design, color scheme and the overall look and feel of the custom site to unfold the visual story of who you are and what you offer.
Branding
The term “branding” refers to an identity or experience conjured by a product or place. Identifying with a certain brand of coffee or enjoying the relaxation and comfort of a certain spa or hotel; this is the branding these products and places have succeeded in establishing.
What experience or identity does your product or service stir in your customers?
At a point in time when products are at a surplus and are easily accessible, how will you set your company apart and keep your products/services continually sought after?
